The history of unexplainable events, dates back to the dawn of time. Trying to find, or give a rational explanation for these incidents, dates back just as far.
PORT, between only 3 members, has over 75 years combined experience in the field of paranormal research. Each of us have encountered situations, or complaints through the years, that initially didn't seem "right". Over time, by experimenting, we have been able to dismiss the vast majority of those instances, by either being able to recreate them, or finding a plausible reason as to why they occurred. There are however, those occurrences, that defy explanation.
Unfortunately, with the popularity of the numerous TV shows based on the subject, combined with pictures, descriptions, videos, etc., so readily available on the internet, the field has taken a downward spiral. Television needs to be seen for just what it is . . . entertainment. The vast majority of items found on the internet dealing with the paranormal, are either hoaxed, misleading. or misrepresented, whether intentionally or not. Far too many groups and/or "investigators", have gotten the majority of their knowledge either straight from the TV screen, or off of the internet. This makes it seemingly impossible for persons with the need or want, to find help in a group or investigator, that actually knows what they are doing. Simply because groups or individuals represent themselves as "professionals", "experts", or "elite" does not make it so. There are no professionals or experts in a field that is far from an exact science.
